Microsoft Cortana TV

The only way to Watch TV.

Cortana TV is a smart TV with an AI enabled voice assistant. On boarding is achieve through Bluetooth connection with your Cortana app to avoid the hassle of setting it up on the TV screen. We think of Cortana TV as a place where you can have your favorite apps and enjoy your streaming services without having to set your preferences. Cortana Microsoft assistant is the only way to watch TV.

Problem

Over 70% of the people on the US alone share a household, with that in mind it means that they also probably share a TV. People have different personalities, different streaming apps and TV preferences. How can i make an AI system where people can access what they want and fit with their custom needs?

Solution

Create an onboarding system where multiple users can customize their preferences for accessing content on their smart TV. This system works within Microsoft design constraints.

To understand how Cortana TV will engage with its users and respond to their commands. I did some research with similar services (alexa, Siri). Designing a voice recognition system that can be trustworthy involves having a “voice” that feels familiar, like if it were having a normal conversation with it’s user. Even when failing to secure a task, the way that it needs to solve it should still reduce the stress one the user to deal with this.
